Referee calls off match after Asuka injury scare

A match between Asuka and Mandy Rose at a non-televised live event in White Plains, New York yesterday had to be abandoned after Asuka had an injury scare following a bad bump.

According to several Twitter posts from fans who were inside the arena, Rose dropped the Smackdown Women’s champion on her head and she was unable to get back up on her feet.

The referee called off the match and WWE medical personnel rushed to ringside and helped Asuka to the back.

The Empress of Tomorrow then wrote on Twitter that she was “fine” and was sorry for worrying everyone. “It’s neither a concussion nor a neck,” she later wrote of her injury.

Assuming she gets cleared, Asuka takes on Mandy Rose this Sunday at Fastlane with the Smackdown Women’s title on the line.
