Rikishi announced as the third inductee in the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2015

Former WWE Superstar Rikishi is the latest inductee in the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2015. His name was announced yesterday during Monday Night Raw.

The 49 year old had a long career in the WWE under a couple of different gimmicks. He started in 1992 as part of The Headshrinkers and then in 1995 he was repackaged as “Make Difference” Fatu, going singles after The Headshrinkers were no more however that gimmick didn’t last long and in 1996 he went under a mask and debuted as The Sultan, managed by The Iron Sheik and Bob Backlund.

In 1999, he joined Too Cool under the gimmick Rikishi, certainly enjoying his best run in the WWE. In October 2000, Rikishi turned heel after it was revealed that he ran over Steve Austin and uttered the words “I did it…for The Rock,” which still remain famous to this day. Perhaps the greatest moment of his career came at the Armageddon 2000 pay-per-view, where Rikishi along with Kurt Angle, The Undertaker, The Rock, Steve Austin, and Triple H participated in a six-man Hell In A Cell match. Rikishi ended up taking a fly from the top of the cage through a flatbed truck at ringside courtesy of The Undertaker. In 2001 he returned as a face and delivered a stink face to Vince McMahon but his days in the WWE were numbered television-wise and he wasn’t used much till his departure in 2004.

Rikishi made an appearance at the 2012 Hall of Fame ceremony along with his family to accept the induction of his cousin Yokozuna. Rikishi’s two sons are also part of the WWE family wrestling under the names Jimmy and Jey Uso.
