Leprechaun: Origins to receive limited theatrical release this month

The WWE Studios and Lionsgate production of the movie Leprechaun: Origins, will have a limited a theatrical run on August 22 after it received a good reception at the San Diego Comic Con.

The movie, featuring WWE Superstar Hornswoggle, will be released on Digital HD, Video On Demand, and pay-per-view on August 26 following by a Blu-Ray and DVD release on September 30.

Also starring are Stephanie Bennett, Andrew Dunbar, Melissa Roxburgh and Brendan Fletcher. It was written by Harris Wilkinson and directed by Zach Lipovsky.

The synopsis of the movie reads, “Backpacking through the lush Irish countryside, two unsuspecting young couples discover a town’s chilling secret. Ben (Dunbar), Sophie (Bennett), David (Fletcher) and Jeni (Roxburgh) quickly discover the idyllic land is not what it appears to be when the town’s residents offer the hikers an old cabin at the edge of the woods. Soon, the friends will find that one of Ireland’s most famous legends is a terrifying reality.”
