Fans at the Smackdown tapings yesterday in Liverpool, England, got an unexpected segment during commercial breaks involving WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon.
The boss was irate with the fans who were quiet and didn’t react to anything that was going on and after a while, McMahon came out to a good pop from the crowd. He then walked back in, and walked back out again for another small pop.
“That’s it! That’s it! Let’s hear it for Vince McMahon!,” he said, trying to get a reaction from the crowd.
“What’s the matter with you people, sitting on your hands out here, you’re not having a good time? You’re not cheering, you’re not booing, and why? They cheered louder in Sheffield, they cheered louder in Manchester, they cheer louder all over the UK except here in Liverpool,” he said as fans booed.
McMahon then proceeded to make fun of some fans who were at ringside who all they did was stare. “Come on, what’s the matter with you? Have some fun here tonight, Liverpool.”
He then continued to make fun of the city, saying that Liverpool sounds like a disease.
“Liverpool! What kind of name is Liverpool? Liverpool sounds like an old man’s skin disease, doesn’t it? Liverpool, kind of like Ebola, it just crawls up on you. Come on and have some fun here tonight, dammit,” the Chairman concluded as fans finally cheered.
It’s probably safe to say that Liverpool will not be getting another TV tapings for a few years. There were several videos online with McMahon’s segment but they were all pulled down by WWE.
