WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon was a guest on The Steve Austin Show: Unleashed, last night on the WWE Network right after Raw went off the air and both parties pulled no punches during the one hour interview.
To his credit, McMahon answered every question that Austin threw at him, tackling some hot topics such as the CM Punk mess, the firing of Jim Ross Brock Lesnar, and more.
Austin asked McMahon some uncomfortable questions, including one why he decided to pull the plug on the Undertaker’s streak. McMahon admitted it was his decision to do it and Lesnar was the only guy he thought he could do it considering the roster he had at the time and what the roster could look like in a year or two. He referred to the Undertaker by his real name Mark Callaway and said that while he was surprised, he said no one wants to give back to the business more than Mark.
The WWE Hall of Famer then asked when Macho Man Randy Savage will be inducted into the Hall of Fame, to which McMahon replied, “soon.” Austin kept pressing and McMahon said that it might not be this year but it will happen for sure.
Austin asked where the hell is Brock Lesnar and McMahon explained the contract they have with Lesnar and how he’s an attraction and if he’s there every week beating the babyface roster there would be nothing left for him. He also said that Sting will be similar, and he sees Sting in the ring at WrestleMania.
The two talked other different subjects such as their feud, the roster not being as ambitious as back in the day, Cesaro, WCW, and much more.
When Austin told McMahon that he had one more minute left on the broadcast, McMahon replied saying that he’s just getting started and when Austin said they’re wrapping in 20 seconds, McMahon told the guys in the back that since he owns the Network, they’re going for 15 minutes more so they had to deal with it.
