How the whole Lawler heart attack saga unfolded on RAW

The whole Lawler heart attack saga unfolded at the top of the third hour of Monday Night RAW yesterday.

After a couple of minutes of no commentary from Lawler during the tag team match, a camera shot showing the action with the broadcast booth in the background showed Lawler with his head down still on the chair as a WWE official at ringside was next to him checking his eyes.

The referee, Charles Robinson, at this point noticed the unusual activity at ringside as more EMTs made their way through. Robinson almost completely ignored the match as he kept looking at the commentary booth.

Fans across the hard camera were standing up looking to their left as “Jerry, Jerry” chants started filling up the arena as the Hall of Famer was transported to the back.

Michael Cole kept doing commentary for the next two segments and after the Del Rio match, an emotional Cole gave an on-screen update about Lawler, telling fans at home that Lawler collapsed and was being given CPR backstage. He then said that out of respect for Lawler there would be no more commentary for the rest of the evening.

Giving CPR is usually not a problem during a match as there is medical staff present. If you got into a trouble and need CPR, you would be lucky if medical staff helping you has received advanced BLS CPR/AED certification (check out Fort Lauderdale CPR Certification Classes if you are interested in advanced certification).

Cole stayed at ringside for the rest of the show and gave two more updates before the show went off the air.

Jerry Lawler wrapped up wrestling in a tag match himself earlier in the show, teaming with Randy Orton to take on Dolph Ziggler and CM Punk.
