Hulk Hogan: The most expensive sex tape ever

Wow what a weird day. Never thought Hulk Hogan, of all people, would get the Chris Benoit treatment by the WWE.

What Hulk said was not correct, it deserved punishment. I can understand why WWE wanted to back away. But I think this went a bit too much. Booker T said it (to Hogan no less), Vince McMahon said it to John Cena on Raw (go on YouTube and find it), and others did stuff that should have been punished for and were spared the punishment or got a light slap on the wrist. Should he be erased from WWE history? Hell no. If there was no Hulk Hogan there would be no WWE. Everyone makes mistakes, some bigger than others. This was big, but hey, he didn’t murder anyone.

I am not mad at Hulk Hogan. I don’t believe deep down the Hulkster is a racist. In all these years that he has been in the business no one ever gave a hint about Hogan being a racist. He’s not stupid. I am disappointed however. You never expect someone like him to say such words. He is/was a hero to many people, someone that fans looked up to. Those kind of heroes don’t talk like that, not on camera and not even off camera. In this day and age you never know who’s looking behind you. Big brother is always watching.

When Hogan sued Gawker for $100 million everyone questioned why such a large sum for just a sex tape. We didn’t know all this. He did, and he realized if this came out, it will be game over him. How that transcript made it out after being sealed by the court remains a mystery. Was Gawker in on it? Who knows, but it’s no secret that this Hogan lawsuit might end their business and if they’re going down, they’re going to go down in a blaze of glory. Even if Hulk Hogan is awarded all the $100 million he’s demanding, the damage he suffered in just one day is way more expensive than that sum. Plus the fact that he’s being slowly erased from WWE history is a big blow to Hogan, not to mention the lost revenue in merchandise, licensing, appearances, and other potential money-making opportunities in the future.

Will he ever come back? Will WWE forgive him? Who knows. The best thing for Hulk to do is own up to it. Admit the mistake, don’t bring up any excuses and ask for forgiveness. Excuses will make him look weaker and no one likes excuses. They say time heals everything. For WWE’s sake, for Hogan’s sake, and for the fans’ sake, that time should not be too long. And I hope he has a good support system at home because things like this drive you to do some insane stuff.

Keep hanging in there Hulk. You can do it.
