UFC Women’s Bantamweight champion “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey did not disappoint last night and made the WWE Hall of Famer Roddy Piper proud after finishing off the undefeated Correia in 34 seconds.
In her post-fight interview inside the Octagon, Rousey mentioned Hot Rod after she dedicated the fight to him the day before. “I just wanna say we lost a really close friend, Rowdy Roddy Piper, who gave me permission to use his name as a fighter and so I hope he and my dad had a good time watching this today,” she told Joe Rogan.
Also during her interview on FOX Sports with Ariel Helwani, Rousey revealed that she spoke to Piper for a couple of hours earlier this week talking about this fight and told him that she’s going to beat Bethe Correia and do his name proud.
