Awesome Kong fired from TNA Wrestling

Awesome Kong has been fired from TNA Wrestling following the backstage incident with Matt Hardy’s wife Reby during the first night of the Maximum Impact Tour in the United Kingdom.

“My time this round in TNA was fun. Time for me to move on to other things. #Released #HeadHeldHigh,” Kong wrote on Twitter.

The incident got physical and required other TNA personnel to separate Kong from Reby Sky after an argument got heated. Kong was sent back home following the altercation and TNA’s Executive Vice President of Creative & Talent Relations John Gaburick acknowledged what happened and wrote that further action will be taken after the incident is reviewed.

Gaburick issued a small statement on the TNA website addressing Kong’s firing which reads, “We conducted an investigation and determined releasing Awesome Kong is the appropriate action in this case. Kong has been a great contributor to TNA and helped solidify the Knockouts as the best female division in professional wrestling. We thank her and wish her well.”
