AJ Styles receives heartbreaking letter from father whose son passed away

WWE Superstar AJ Styles received a heartbreaking letter from a father of young son with ADHD which made the rounds via Twitter.

The father, Michael Bongiovanni, wrote to Styles saying that he was supposed to write this letter with his son, but now, he has to do it by himself and he owes it to his son to reach out and tell him how important is the photo he took at an airport last month with him.

Bongiovianni recounted how they were all set to go watch a WWE show but his mother passed away. His son offered his tickets to a friend, and despite wanting to watch his favorite stars, he knew he had to be with his family.

On December 26, they were at the Newark airport and his son saw Dolph Ziggler, but Ziggler had his earphones on and didn’t hear him. AJ Styles then walked by and the son reached out. “Your response was ‘What’s up, bud? I have to catch a flight for a show in Chicago,” the father wrote. His wife told Styles that they were on the way to his grandmother’s funeral, and Styles stopped and took some time to take a photo with the kid.

“It was a really nice gesture on your part. Now I know this must happen to you all the time but it was so very special to him. It was all he could talk about and we said we going write to let you know how special it was,” he continued in the letter.

Unfortunately, a few days ago, his son had a tragic accident that left him brain dead. He is donating his organs to save other people. “I promised we would write this letter together but we weren’t able to. I needed to write this for him. But from me I wanted to thank you for giving my Nicky a gift he was happy with,” the dad wrote. “My family would like to thank you! You could of just walked by but you stopped and made one special little boy so happy.”

The letter did make it to AJ Styles and he acknowledged it on Twitter, retweeting the photo he took with Nicky on the day after Christmas. “It’s not what you do inside the ring. It’s what u do outside of it. I am thankful for this moment with Nicky,” Styles wrote.

Nicky’s aunt, who originally posted the letter in hoping of getting Styles’ attention, then posted on Twitter that her nephew passed away shortly after AJ Styles made a phone call to the dad.

The family setup a GoFundme campaign to help with costs of the funeral, transport of the body and to cover the hospital costs. “Thank you to the #WWE community for your support, prayers and kind words all day,” said a tweet from the aunt. The $25,000 goal has already been surpassed thanks to many wrestling fans who donated.
