Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that the word going around is that Seth Rollins will be out of action for around eight weeks, making his earliest potential return around the end of March.
With WrestleMania set for April 2, it’s cutting it dangerously close and Rollins might not even be cleared by that time. WWE now has to make the difficult decision on what to do with the planned program for Rollins and Triple H, either pull the plug and let Rollins heal or else take the gamble, go ahead with the original plan, and hope for the best.
Meltzer adds that Rollins was in Birmingham, Alabama yesterday to get his knee evaluated by the team who operated on his ACL in 2015. A closer look at video of the final seconds of Rollins locked in the Kokina Clutch reveals that Rollins told Joe of the injury, saying “I must have…(inaudible)” and Joe says, “Are you okay?” to which Rollins replies, “I hope so.”
Meanwhile, the former WWE champion thanked his fans on Twitter for reaching out to him with best wishes. “Life doesn’t always go your way, but that is no excuse to surrender. If anything, obstacles exist to help us grow and evolve. This reinjury to my surgically repaired knee is real and a lot is up in the air right now, but one thing remains constant: my resolve. This doesn’t end for me until I’ve reclaimed the throne,” Rollins wrote. “And for me, fighting and defeating Triple H is the only way. I will work harder than I ever have and push myself beyond what I know. This isn’t over. The only way to wear the crown is to slay the king. I know what must be done and there’s nothing that can stop me.”
