Dwayne Johnson’s Ballers season 3 returns on July 23 on HBO

HBO today announced that their Dwayne Johnson-led television series Ballers will return on the air on July 23 for its third season.

The 30-minute show will start at 10PM and follows former football superstar Spencer Strasmore – played by Johnson – who has reinvented himself as a financial manager for current players in Miami.

For the past two seasons, Ballers filmed on-location in Miami but this time around, HBO took its production to San Francisco because of tax credits that the company took advantage of in the state of California.

Season one averaged 1.6 million viewers while season two averaged 1.1 million viewers. Despite the drop of an average half a million viewers every week, HBO were keen to sign up the show for 10 more episodes for another season.
