Brock Lesnar surpasses CM Punk as the longest-reigning champion in modern-day history

Brock Lesnar’s reign as the WWE Universal champion is in its 435th day, officially surpassing CM Punk’s WWE title reign of 434 days as the longest reigning champion in modern-day history.

The two records however couldn’t be more opposite as in 434 days, CM Punk defended the WWE title a total of 141 times while Lesnar defended the title just 10 times. CM Punk also wrestled in 110 live shows as champion while Brock Lesnar only wrestled at four live events. In terms of pay-per-views, Punk defended the title 12 times while Lesnar defended it six times. The other title defenses for CM Punk came on televised events.

Brock Lesnar won the Universal title from Goldberg at WrestleMania 33 and last wrestled at the Greatest Royal Rumble in April, defeating Roman Reigns in a cage match. His next wrestling match is expected to be at SummerSlam.
