2018 WWE Survivor Series PPV Pick’em report

Hey everybody! Welcome to the 2018 WWE Survivor Series PPV Pick’em report! It’s been a grueling 2018 Pick’em Season, and we are now heading to the homestretch with an extremely tight contest!

Tonight, we have a very interesting bonus opportunity for the members of The Crew. For each of the Team Elimination matches (both Pre-Show and Main Show)…if they can correctly pick the team that wins, they’ll get 1 point. If they can correctly predict the sole survivor(s), they’ll get an additional 2 points! ANYTHING can happen at the Survivor Series, amirite?

Here’s the scores for the 2018 Season (after Crown Jewel)

MagnumDA: 75 Points (+8 Points) = 83 Points
Heel Turn Tom: 76 Points (+6 Points) = 82 Points
Tricky Don: 73 Points (+8 Points) = 81 Points
Colin: 73 Points (+5 Points) = 78 Points

Here we go with our picks for tonight’s Survivor Series PPV!

Pre-Show – Survivor Series Tag Team Match
Team Raw (Bobby Roode and Chad Gable, The Revival (Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson), The B-Team (Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel), Lucha House Party (Lince Dorado, Kalisto, and/or Gran Metalik), and The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor) vs. Team Smackdown Live (The Usos (Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso), The New Day (Big E, Kofi Kingston, and/or Xavier Woods), Sanity (Alexander Wolfe, Eric Young, and/or Killian Dain), Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, and The Colóns (Epico Colón and Primo Colón)

Magnum: I heard this was recently moved to the Pre-Show…that’s a shame! I always thought that both the Tag Teams and the Singles wrestlers should be included with the Survivor Series PPV. As for this match, I think that the next challengers for the tag straps are coming out of this match. I’m going to roll with the Raw team getting the win in this one, to set the tone for Raw’s attempt at a three-peat. I’ll take Roode/Gable and the Lucha House Party to survive.

Tom: This will be a cluster of a match to start until a few teams are eliminated. The tag teams are better on Smackdown and The Usos and New Day will stand tall at the end. Smackdown wins.

Don: Since the Elite may be coming in, and since NJPW is also interested in Gallows and Anderson, I have a feeling they will survive. I also think it is time to give The New Day some momentum before the split them up. Team Smackdown wins – The New Day & Gallows and Anderson survive.

Colin: Glorious! Not really, but whatever. It’s a chance to get everyone on the card, I guess. With The New Day and The Usos on Team Smackdown, they’re going to get the win. And as for sole survivor(s), I guess The Usos and The New Day.

WWE Cruiserweight Championship
Buddy Murphy (c) vs. Mustafa Ali

Magnum: I freaking loved that title win by Buddy Murphy at the Super Show Down. The place went completely ballistic! As for tonight, I think Buddy continues to carry the Cruiserweight brand. Buddy Murphy retains.

Tom: This is the only title match today, but I don’t see a change of the belt. My Buddy Murphy retains.

Don: I haven’t followed 205 Live in a while, so I am going with the champ. Buddy Murphy retains.

Colin: To be completely honest I don’t follow the Cruiserweights very much. I know I should, but don’t ask me why. It’s just another show that I’d have to watch which I don’t have time for. Hopefully they won’t take the title away from Murphy so soon so picking Buddy winning.

Champion vs. Champion
RAW Tag Champs AOP (Akam and Rezar, with Drake Maverick) vs. Smackdown Live Tag Champs The Bar (Cesaro and Sheamus, with Big Show)

Magnum: The Bar have had quite a bit of success with The Big Show’s backing, even as recently as this past Tuesday on Smackdown Live. However, I think the AOP are going to put themselves on the map with a huge, dominating win right here. Anything less…wouldn’t make any sense. AOP humbles The Bar.

Tom: I’m not feeling AOP yet. They had to push a NXT tag team every now and again, but why not push the Revival. But I don’t see them taking the wind out of AOP. AOP will score the victory.

Don: Time to build the Authors of Pain. The Bar will get the win back in a tables match at TLC. As for tonight? Authors of Pain win.

Colin: I really liked AOP when they were in NXT. They were badass m’fers. Here on Raw, meh. But new champs and all that…they better not job this quickly. AOP gets the WIN.

Non-Title Match – Raw vs. Smackdown
WWE Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair

Magnum: I really, truly wonder if the fates have aligned for Becky and Ronda to square off at WrestleMania. I hope so! Crossing my fingers. As for this match, I think Rousey is going to establish herself as ‘the baddest woman on the planet’. We might even get the start of the Horsewomen vs. Horsewomen feud in this bout! Give me Rousey to take Charlotte to school. Rousey wins.

Tom: This seems hotshot and should have been built until Wrestlemania. I was thinking they would have used Auska, but not to be. This will probably the match of the night if not the Rollins and Nakamura match. Rousey will be in the figure eight for a while but not tap. Several false finishes. But I don’t see WWE letting Rousey lose. Rousey wins and Meltzer will give it 5 stars.

Don: Ronda did the impossible and beat Nikki Bella at Evolution, so there should be no stopping her now. Plus, Ronda Rousey is rumored to main event Wrestlemania as the last match. With that being said, WWE has to keep her strong and undefeated until then. Ronda Rousey wins.

Colin: Man, I was really looking forward to Ronda vs Becky. Really was. My prediction for that match was Ronda winning with a finish similar to the Austin/Bret at WrestleMania 13. I hate they’re throwing this together so quickly though as it could have led to 4 Horsewomen vs 4 Horsewomen eventually. Ronda Rousey for the win all the way.

Champion vs. Champion
WWE IC Champ Seth Rollins vs. WWE US Champ Shinsuke Nakamura

Magnum: This is going to be fascinating to watch, just because of the people involved with the match. A few years back…this would be a Dream Match. It still is in 2018, but Nakamura’s been watered down since WrestleMania. With Ambrose lurking in the shadows, expect Nakamura to get a huge win here before he eventually loses the US strap to Rey Mysterio (a title Rey has never held!)

Tom: I hope this is a great match like these two can put on. It will look like Rollins will get the win but Ambrose screws Rollins and Nakamura hits the Kinshasa for the three count.

Don: With rumors of NJPW trying to bring Nakamura back home, and the high probability of a Dean Ambrose run in…my money is on the King of Strong Style. Shinsuke Nakamura wins.

Colin: I wish this was NJPW Nakamura wrestling Rollins. But should be a fantastic match nonetheless. Thinking Nakamura will win after Ambrose interferes and causes Rollins the match.

Survivor Series Match
Team Raw (Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre, Braun Strowman, Finn Bálor, and Bobby Lashley) vs. Team Smackdown Live (The Miz, Shane McMahon, Rey Mysterio, Samoa Joe, and Jeff Hardy)

Magnum: I’m on an island here, but there’s something about Shane’s World Cup win that tells me we’re not finished with him just yet. As crazy as this sounds, give me Smackdown Live to finally break the three-year curse and defeat Raw. I’m with Colin, the Raw team is definitely going to implode…and I wouldn’t be surprised if we ended it with Miz and Shane vs. Braun, Dolph, and Drew. As crazy as it sounds, I’ll take Shane McMahon as the Sole Survivor, leading the blue brand to victory.

Tom: Team Raw is too dysfunctional. They will set up McIntyer vs Strowman in this match and Bálor versus Lashley. Ziggler won’t save the day today. Team Smackdown wins with Shane and The Miz the survivors.

Don: The 2014 Survivor Series main event saw Dolph Ziggler win the main event as the sole survivor. This year we will see a new sole survivor, and it will be Drew McIntyre. Team Raw wins, sole survivor Drew McIntyre

Colin: Team Raw won last year didn’t they? How can Smackdown, with the Best in the World, lose this? Seriously! Okay, kidding aside, if Braun is going to challenge again for the title, he needs to win this for his team. Team Raw wins, Strowman sole survivor.

Survivor Series Match
Team Raw (Mickie James, Nia Jax, Tamina, Sasha Banks, and Bayley) vs. Team Smackdown Live (Carmella, Naomi, Sonya Deville, Asuka, and Mandy Rose)

Magnum: I’m excited about who the Smackdown mystery women’s wrestler is – Could a Raw wrestler defect? Could an NXT wrestler make their debut with the blue brand? Anything’s possible. As for this match, give me Smackdown Live to win. As for the “Sole Survivors”…? I’ll take Naomi, Asuka, and Mandy Rose to survive.

Tom: I see Nikki Cross filling in for Charlotte. The fans will love it. With breaking Becky’s face, I see Nia Jax being the first eliminated with like one kick from Asuka or the dancing break confusion from Carmella and a small package brother, brother. With Jax out, Raw has no chance in hell. I think it will be Asuka as sole survivor with Team Smackdown wins.

Don: I have a feeling Team Smackdown is going to dominate this one. Asuka, Carmella and the mystery partner will lead Smackdown on to victory. Team SmackDown wins, and the survivors are Asuka, Carmella and Mandy Rose.

Colin: Kinda weak match. As for the TBA on the Smackdown team, hey, give me Lana, okay? I never get tired of watching her. I mean, not watching her wrestling, but watching her. LOL! I say Team….DANCE BREAK…..okay we’re back…Team Smackdown gets the win in this one with Asuka and Naomi as survivors.

Champion vs. Champion
WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar vs. WWE Champion Daniel Bryan

Magnum: I told the boys from the “Pick’em Crew” that this match wouldn’t happen. I still think there’s going to be some kind of ‘bait and switch’ where Brock Lesnar doesn’t show up at Survivor Series. Whether he arrives or not…I still think something’s going to happen to allow Daniel Bryan to win. If they do fight, I wouldn’t be surprised if Lesnar oversteps his boundaries and gets DQ’ed. Still, I’m extremely skeptical. The most disappointing thing about this match…was that it was supposed to headline WrestleMania 31. The idea was that Bryan would be destroyed at Summerslam 2014, win the 2015 Rumble, and then shock the world by defeating Lesnar at Mania. I would have loved that storyline arc. Instead, we get this. What a letdown. By hook, by crook, or by forfeit, Daniel Bryan wins in a shocking turn of events.

Tom: There is no way that Brock will lose in WWE before his UFC fight. I feel like this will be like last year being a good match but Brock wins.

Don: I think with Roman out, Cena on a limited schedule, Lesnar on a limited schedule, WWE needs to develop a new face of the company. Call me crazy, but for this Daniel vs Goliath dream match, I think history will repeat itself and Daniel will be victorious. Plus imagine the match ups if the Elite signs, or when they call up the NXT stars. Daniel Bryan wins.

Colin: If this was Lesnar vs AJ I would have predicted a win for AJ. He did the job last year and I would have imagined that Strowman interferes and costs Lesnar the match. Betting against Lesnar though most of the time doesn’t get you anywhere though, right? With that said, I don’t see how Bryan can beat Lesnar to be completely honest so give me big Brock for the win.

That’s going to do it for us! From the PPV Pick’em Crew to your families, Happy Thanksgiving! We’ll see you next month for THE GRAND FINALE 2018 PPV PICK’EM REPORT!
