Intergender WWE match advertised for non-televised live event in Jonesboro

An intergender match between Dean Ambrose and Nia Jax is being advertised for a non-televised live event in Jonesboro, Arkansas on February 27.

While intergender matches in WWE are not new, they have not happened in several years especially since WWE went PG. Chyna was a regular in intergender matches and the Intercontinental, Hardcore, and Cruiserweight titles were all held by women at some point during the company’s popular Attitude Era.

Ambrose, who’s on the way out of WWE come April, was confronted by Nia Jax on Raw a few weeks ago and Jax even hit him from behind. The angle has continued on Raw and it looks like they’re testing the waters for a televised match between the two. At non-televised live events, it allows WWE Superstars and producers to test things before presenting them to a televised audience although today it’s easy to capture footage from such events and more often than not the good stuff ends up on YouTube after the shows are over anyway.
