With Raw and NXT taped already, Smackdown remains in limbo due to lockdown

WWE has Monday Night Raw and NXT already taped for this week but no tapings have been done for Friday Night Smackdown.

The company managed to squeeze in the post-Mania Raw and the much-anticipated NXT episode tapings before the state of Florida went into lockdown. It’s unclear if WWE has applied for a waiver or if they will be allowed to hold any tapings at the Performance Center but the plan is to tape Smackdown from somewhere on Friday, the day of the show.

WWE can move tapings to its world headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut if need be but the state of Connecticut is also under partial lockdown with non-essential businesses forced to close. The company might have a bit more pull in that state since it’s headquartered there but with such close proximity to New York and New Jersey where the virus is spreading like wildfire, it might not be the best option either.

Pretty much every WWE Superstar who participated at the Mania tapings has been at home for the past week and a half and they would have spent two weeks inside if recalled for tapings on Friday.
