AEW star Anna Jay of The Dark Order will be out for the remaining of 2021 and possibly a couple of months into 2022 after a shoulder injury that requires surgery to fix.
Jay was supposed to be part of the AEW Women’s Title Eliminator tournament but was replaced by Madi Wrenkowski instead. Wrenkowski lost her match against Dr. Britt Baker yesterday.
AEW uploaded a video of Dr. Michael Sampson examining Jay backstage with the company saying that Jay was injured while training. She has not wrestled since early January.
“I’m super upset about this…. all I can do now is put in the work to come back stronger,” Jay wrote in a post on social media. “Thanks for all the love and support everyone. It means a lot to me!”
Several of her colleagues came out in support of the 22-year-old and sent their best wishes via several tweets.
