In an interview with Forbes published yesterday, AEW President Tony Khan said he believes that the balance of power in professional wrestling has shifted from WWE to the fans and All Elite Wrestling.
Khan cited the year-over-year ratings for Dynamite which “didn’t plummet” compared to other shows during the pandemic year and based his comment on that and adding more wrestlers to its rosters.
“We keep signing more great wrestlers, and in the next week, you’ll see more wrestlers debuting in AEW,” Khan told Forbes. Khan has been pushing that a major star will be signing a multi-year deal at Revolution, sparking several debates online on who it will be. The news was originally delivered by Paul Wight this past Wednesday who said that a Hall of Fame-worthy name will be arriving on Sunday.
Speaking about the rumors of NXT moving to Tuesdays, Khan said he doesn’t know if it’s real or not “but it would be great to be unopposed” and would love an unopposed audience. “When we have, we’ve done some really good numbers and I think that would be awesome.”
