Six athletes join the newest WWE Performance Center class

WWE announced the hiring of six new athletes to the WWE Performance Center with the new class starting training this week. The class features five men and one woman.

The new recruits include Bobby Stevenson, the brother of 2020 Olympic Gold medalist Gable Stevenson; Ben Buchanan, a former Alabama state high school wrestling champion and the son of former WWE Superstar Bull Buchanan; Brady Booker, a former college football player for the University of South Dakota; Jessica Woynilko, a gymnast, bodybuilder and CrossFit athlete; Joshua Dawkins, trained by D-Von Dudley and who is the nephew of NBA legend Darryl Dawkins; and Joseph Fatu, the younger brother of Jimmy and Jey Uso and the son of WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi.

The company is opting to sign athletes moving forward rather than raid the independent wrestling scene with the hopes of molding them into wrestlers the way they WWE wants them from day one.
