Raw faces fresh competition as NFL returns and ratings juggernaut NCIS moves to Mondays

Monday Night Raw will be back facing stiff competition starting from tonight as Monday Night Football is back on ESPN for the new football season.

Raw has averaged 1.8 million viewers since returning on the road, just a slight uptick from the 1.7 million average it was pulling from the beginning of the year. In the four weeks of 2021 that Raw faced NFL, WWE’s flagship show averaged 1.9 million viewers so in reality viewership actually went down without NFL competition head-to-head.

What might me concerning as well is that starting from next Monday, CBS will be airing the new season of NCIS at 9PM ET. NCIS, one of the most-watched series in the world and now in its 18th season, averaged 9.5 million viewers for the last season and a 0.8 rating in the 18-49 demo. The show previously aired on Tuesday nights and typically leads the pack when it comes to the important demo.
