WWE Extreme Rules 2021 PPV Pick’em report

Hey everybody! @TheMagnumDA here with another PPV Pick’em report. Tonight, as we present to you WWE EXTREME RULES 2021, I’d like to take a moment and congratulate Colin Vassallo on Wrestling-Online.com hitting its 25th Anniversary as a website.

I’d subscribed to Colin’s newsletter since the very beginning, but about 5 years ago…I e-mailed Colin asking if he had any opportunities to write on his site. It started out with 205 Live reports, and then there was a period of time where I was writing the Raw reports…but before long, I found my niche. I look forward to these Pick’em reports every month, and I thank you Colin for giving me (and my friends) this opportunity!

With that said, we’re going to do this Triple Threat Pick’em using a Confidence scale – 6 points for the most confident pick…all the way down to 1 point for the least confident pick. The highest score wins the Linear WOPC Championship, but do remember! If there’s a tie of any kind for 1st place, the title stays with the Champion (regardless of their score).

Let’s not waste another second – ON WITH THE PICKS!

WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship
The Usos (Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso) (c) vs. The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford)

Heel Turn Tom: The Usos will beat the Street Profits – 3 points on it. I feel like WWE is building to Roman and Usos match against The New Day.

Colin: I am digging The Bloodline faction and having all of them as champions is cool. The Street Profits will certainly get another run with the titles again although I don’t think this will be today. I’m picking The Usos for the win – 2 points on it.

Magnum: This could be a phenomenal bout. I think The Usos are locked in to be champions for a while. I’m interested to see if they follow up on Dawkins’ absence on Friday – could there be dissention down the road? Either way, I’ll take The Usos to retain the gold – 3 points.

Liv Morgan vs. Carmella

Heel Turn Tom: Liv Morgan will get the W over Carmella. 4 Points on it.

Colin: Why is this even on the PPV card? Liv Morgan should win this one, but I’m only putting 1 point on it.

Magnum: They’ve been teasing something with Liv/Carmella…specifically, Carmella’s nose getting broken by Liv. I think they go all the way with this. Liv wins and messes up Mella’s pretty face – 4 points.

WWE United States Championship – No DQ Triple Threat Match
Damian Priest (c) vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Sheamus

Heel Turn Tom: I see Priest retaining and as I don’t see any titles changing, that concerns me for my picks. I could see this one going to Hardy but staying with Damian to retain – 2 points.

Colin: Good thing they added Hardy to the mix because I didn’t want to see another Priest vs Sheamus one-on-one match. It’s amazing that since Hardy returned to WWE he hasn’t been given any decent run with something. Having said that, Priest is being built up pretty good so I expect him to retain this one – 3 points on it.

Magnum: Jeff Hardy’s addition is interesting – do they want to put the title back on Sheamus (without having Priest pinned)? Or maybe it’s the other way around. Who knows. For tonight, I’ll take Priest to retain, but only 2 points on it.

WWE Raw Women’s Championship
Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Alexa Bliss

Heel Turn Tom: Charlotte will sneak out a win against Alexa – I’m only putting 1 point on it. This one also concerns me that they could put the title on Bliss. But the title on the Fiend didn’t help him out with his crazy character so I hope they don’t do it here.

Colin: This should be good. I like Bliss, although not necessarily in the current gimmick. The whole supernatural power thingy is not my cup of tea and it insults the fan’s intelligence. But anyway, gotta keep the queen happy, Flair retains – 4 points on that result.

Magnum: You know, I know that Charlotte’s been all over the place with these title matches. Sometimes she’s the challenger, and she wins…but she doesn’t win the title. In this situation, I think she’s going to lose…but somehow hold onto the title. So I’ll take Bliss to win the match – just 1 point. If she wins the title too? That’s cool. But I’ll take her for the match.

WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship
Becky Lynch (c) vs. Bianca Belair

Heel Turn Tom: I’ll take Becky to retain, 5 points – this seems to be too obvious because why else would you put the title on her.

Colin: Hoping this will be the match of the night. Belair deserves a proper one against Lynch after that SummerSlam fiasco. Sounds like the two have been tearing it up at house shows and looking forward to see this match. Too early to take the belt off Lynch now so I’m picking The Man for the win – and I’ll also take 5 points on it.

Magnum: I think there’s going to be shenanigans here, too, but I also believe that Lynch is going put herself in the position to retain the title. I’ll take her to win the match, too – 5 points as well.

WWE Universal Championship – Extreme Rules Match
Roman Reigns (c) (with Paul Heyman) vs. “The Demon” Finn Bálor

Heel Turn Tom: Roman retains, 6 points – this also seems to be the most obvious for the story lines, so no doubt WWE will throw a curveball and I will be wrong.

Colin: Having already announced Reigns vs Lesnar for Crown Jewel before this match even started makes you wonder why even go ahead with this match, right? Demon or no demon, there’s no way Balor is beating Reigns, at least not unless Brock Lesnar comes in and destroys him, helping Balor in the process. I’m still picking Reigns to retain – 6 points on it.

Magnum: If I’m not mistaken…if Balor loses here, this would be the first time that The Demon would have lost, in any fashion. I mean, The Demon mowed down Bobby Lashley at Mania XXXV, so Balor losing here would be extremely surprising. That said, I can’t see Reigns losing now, or any time soon. Give me Reigns to retain and look ahead to Brock Lesnar – maxing out 6 points too.

There you have it! I won the WOPC title back at SummerSlam, but now it’s in grave danger! Who will come out on top? Tune in tonight to find out! We’ll see you next month! @TheMagnumDA signing off.
