In a statement issued on social media, Cody Rhodes said that he is in isolation with family who have tested positive for COVID-19.
Rhodes was taken off the Battle of the Belts card and instead an interim match for the TNT title took place between his brother Dustin and Sammy Guevara, a match which Guevara won, setting up another showdown with Cody.
“It’s been a scary time dealing with such a strong virus and the complications that can come with it. We are doing all we can to nurse and protect the family during this time,” Cody wrote.
He added that he will remain in quarantine as long as needed but everyday is more encouraging.
“Thank you immensely for your support and respect for our privacy. Thank you to AEW for understanding and allowing me to be where I am needed today, and for still allowing the TNT Title to be represented. I look forward to being back soon. All the love in the world,” Cody continued.
Rhodes also missed the Wednesday Dynamite debut on TBS from Newark, New Jersey.
