Jim Ross extends AEW deal

Jim Ross revealed on an episode of his podcast Grilling JR that he signed an extension to his current contract with AEW, an extension which will lock the WWE Hall of Famer to AEW till the end of 2023.

Ross said that the deal was signed “not too long ago” and didn’t make the announcement back then.

“I appreciate Tony Khan’s confidence and his willingness to keep me on the team and contribute,” Ross said. “We’re not going a long time, but I think I signed for about a year and a half or something like that to stay in the position I’m in.”

Ross acknowledged that he’s really pleased that at age 70 he still has a future and still loves what he does.

Considered to be one of the best, if not the best, play-by-play announcers in this business, JR has been with AEW since they started in 2019 and his original deal was running out sometime this year.
