Monday Night Raw TV report for 07/04/2022

Corey Graves welcomes us to this 4th of July edition to Raw with Bryon Saxton and joining them this week is Kevin Patrick replacing the vacationing Jimmy Smith.

A recap of Money in the Bank and a preview of tonight’s matches are shown.

Out first the New United States Champion Bobby Lashley who says he has been waiting a long time to do this: “Welcome to Monday Night Raw”. Bobby then goes on to say no one is going to beat him for the United States championship.

Theory interrupts him and asks why he gets to open Monday Night Raw. Theory says he is going to SummerSlam to cash in on either Brock Lesnar or Roman Reigns but Lashley wondered if he is going to make it to SummerSlam. Theory hits Lashley with the briefcase and they begin to fight. Theory than ran out of the ring and they announce Bobby Lashley will face Theory for the United States championship at SummerSlam.

The Mysterios are interviewed backstage, and they are happy to be home. Rey’s first match in his hometown in over 10 years and Dominik’s first match in San Diego.

The Mysterios VS. The Judgement Day

The Mysterios out first and the Judgement Day’s music hits but they attack from the other side of the ring. The Mysterios are both thrown out of the ring and are laying on the floor as we go to break.

As the go to break we get picture in picture and the match starts. The end saw Damian Priest slide a chair into Finn Balor who grabs the chair. Dominik comes in to attempt to get the chair off Balor but gets thrown out of the ring, Priest keeps the referee’s attention and Rey gets to his feet, then immediately falls to the mat as Balor looks stunned with the chair in hand. The referee turns around and calls for the disqualification.

Winners by DQ: The Mysterios

Both point to the sky and do the Latino Heat shake as they leave the ring in honor of the late Eddie Guerrero.

They show Logan Paul signing his WWE contract. Paul then says he is not coming back to team with the Miz, he is coming back to beat his ass.

The Miz is interviewed and is asked what he thought about Paul’s response. The Miz says proud. The Miz tells Paul to retract his statement and become WWE Unified tag team champions but if he doesn’t, he will be relentless. Megan then asks about walking out on his match last week. He said he didn’t quit on his match last week, he had two matches, and he is going to beat AJ Styles tonight.

The Street Profits welcome everyone to their Fourth of July cookout celebration. Ford goes on to say just like his shoulder was up at Money in the Bank, America is up and before he could finish, Chad Gable interrupted and says it doesn’t matter if his shoulder was up, he lost. Gable then says he is going to recite a real piece of the Declaration of Independence. Before he starts Ford says every man and woman has the right to shut Chad Gable up and then slapped him with a hot dog.

Otis steps in and starts yelling about insulting an American hero and Dawkins said if you want to talk about a real American hero, Montez served in the Marines. Otis then says he can eat more hot dogs then anyone, and Dawkins says he is looking at the 3-time hot dog eating champion from Fairfield, IA. Ford then asks who wants to see a Hot Dog eating contest.

The Mysterios are shown walking backstage and get attacked by the Judgement Day.

The Miz VS. AJ Styles

Styles hits the phenomenal forearm for the win

Winner: AJ Styles

After the match, Ciampa attacks Styles. As Styles fights back, the Miz sneaks up behind him and gives him a Skull Crushing Finale. The Miz and Ciampa shake hands and leave the ring.

A recap of Money in the Bank of the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match and the Natalya VS. Rousey match is shown, then Liv Morgan cashing in on Ronda Rousey.

In the ring, the new Smackdown women’s champion Liv Morgan says she is proud to be standing here as the champion and it is a dream come true. She thanks the WWE Universe for staying with her every step of the way. As she continued, Natalya interrupts and says the one person she should be thanking is her because it was her who destroyed Ronda Rousey’s knee with a sharpshooter.

Natalya says she would like a thank you, but she will settle for taking the championship away from her. Carmella then comes out and asks why either one of them are here because this is Raw and to take their problems back to Smackdown where they belong. Liv tells Carmella if she wants her out of this ring, she is going to have to make her leave. Carmella looks at Natalya and they close in on Liv and the fight begins. The two on one did not last long as Bianca Belair comes out to save Liv.

Adam Pearce comes out and makes a tag team match Liv and Bianca VS. Carmella and Natalya

Bianca Belair & Liv Morgan VS. Carmella & Natalya

The match starts during the break in picture in picture. Carmella throws Bianca into the ring post and gets on the apron only to receive a knee to the face from Liv. Natalya tries for the sharpshooter, but Liv kicks her off into the ropes and then runs and hits Natalya with her oblivion maneuver for the win.

Winners: The Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair & The Smackdown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan

They show the party and Veer Mahaan sitting at the table and Cedric Alexander taps him on his left shoulder and as he looks around, Mustafa Ali steals his food. Then MVP is talking to Omos and MVP says they just have to stay the course. Dana Brooke is shown wearing the 24/7 Championship and then a bunch of people following her. Reggie gets knocked down and into Omos who picks Reggie up and just tosses him.

The Street Profits are then talking to Ezekiel and as they are talking, Ezekiel accidentally squeezed the ketchup bottle he was holding, and they all got quiet. Dawkins said oh that is going to stain as Seth Rollins walks in wearing a white shirt now covered in ketchup.

Ezekiel then starts dabbing a hot dog bun on Seth’s shirt then his face. Seth takes off his glasses and stares at Ezekiel then just starts laughing. The Street Profits join in on the laughing and Ezekiel just kind of grins. Seth then quits laughing takes his finger and gets some ketchup off his shirt and just looks at Ezekiel, licks the ketchup off his finger and walks away.

Seth Rollins music hits and he comes out, no longer covered in ketchup and ready to compete.

Seth Rollins VS. Ezekiel

Great match but Ezekiel could not kick out of the Stomp.

Winner: Seth Rollins

After the match, Rollins was going back to the ring to deliver more punishment to Ezekiel, but Riddle come flying out of no where with an RKO to Seth Rollins

We are shown the party again and Dawkins and Otis in hot dog eating contest and you heard and the winner Akira Tozawa with 48. Otis ate 23 and Dawkins ate 22. Theory comes and says remember our six-man tag team match later on and Otis looks like he is going to be sick.

Bobby Lashley & The Street Profits VS. Theory & Alpha Academy

Lashley spears Otis and Ford hits the frog splash on him. Gable hits a back suplex on Ford who turns completely in the air and landed on his stomach. Gable then his a suplex on Lashley and goes to the top rope and hits the moonsault on Lashley only for a 2 count.

Gable goes for a back suplex on Lashley, but Lashley hangs onto the rope and then as Gable bounces off the rope, Lashley hits a spear for the win.

Winners: The United States Champion Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits

After the match, The Street Profits and Bobby Lashley are celebrating on the stage. Gable gets back to his feet in the ring and Otis stumbles in holding his stomach and as he approaches Gable, he throws up.

Megan Morant interviews Becky Lynch who starts out with no one cares about Otis and I am not sharing my time with him just because he ate too many hot dogs. She says she is ready for Asuka, but she is not ready for no holds barred Becky.

R-Truth comes out dressed as Uncle Sam. R-Truth says I am Uncle Sam, Today is his favorite holiday because we celebrate Independence Day. So, we can honor those great American heroes who saved America from that Alien invasion back in 1996…Will Smith…Jeff Goldblum and our favorite Vivian A Fox. He would like to read his favorite passage from the constitution “Welcome to Earth.”

He is interrupted by Ludwig Kaiser who says if you are done with this ridiculous charade, he is here to introduce someone worthy of celebration. Stand and pay respect to your WWE Intercontinental Champion “the Ring General” Gunther.

Gunther VS. R-Truth

Gunther with a kick to the face. Truth fights back but Gunther gets hit and knocked down then hits the powerbomb.

Winner: The WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther

Alexa Bliss is asked what her thoughts are with Liv cashing in. Alexa said she is happy for Liv. She says it’s been way too long since she held anything but Lilly. Asuka comes up and says she is going to beat Becky Lynch and be the next champion and does a dance and Alexa just laughs and shakes her head.

Becky Lynch VS. Asuka in a No Holds Barred match

Great match by both ladies, Asuka at one point went for the mist but Becky blocked it with an umbrella. The match ended with Becky hitting a manhandle slam on Asuka from the second rope through a table set up in the ring.

Winner: Becky Lynch
