Damage CTRL win the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles on Raw

The reign as WWE Women’s Tag Team champions came to a screeching halt for Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah as last night on Raw, IYO SKY and Dakota Kai of Damage CTRL beat them to become the new tag team champs.

The four had a rematch from the tournament final of a few weeks back when Rodriguez and Aliyah came up victorious, although when Kai was pinned, she was not the legal one in the match and the referee failed to spot the mistake. The ending was a nice set up for a rematch, which took place on Raw last night.

It was Kai who this time scored the pinfall for her team, pinning Aliyah after delivering the Kai-Ropractor finisher. Kai is now a three-time tag team champion, with the previous two reigns coming in NXT where ironically enough she won the titles with Rodriguez. SKY is also a former tag team champion herself in NXT, having won them with Zoey Stark.

The third member of Damage CTRL, Bayley, is going after the Raw Women’s title currently held by Bianca Belair and this could set up a similar scenario like Toxic Attraction had in NXT when all three had the titles.
