Shane McMahon paid over $800,000 by WWE in 2022

In the latest WWE Form 8-K filing with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, there is a sentence related to Shane McMahon, who was said to have been let go from the company following the Royal Rumble.

“In 2022, Shane McMahon was retained as an independent contractor performer by the Company and received an aggregate of approximately $828,000 in connection with such services,” the filing revealed.

Shane, who was part of the Royal Rumble match last year, caused a huge uproar backstage with several changes to the actual Royal Rumble match where he served as an unofficial producer. His changes and clashes backstage forced his father to scrap any future storylines and Shane did not appear anymore on WWE television for the rest of the year, meaning that he got paid nearly a million dollars for his Rumble work that one weekend in January.

Shane was supposed to be part of the Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania premium live events last year but his chaos backstage cost him his place on television.
