10 of the greatest wrestlers ever

Dwayne Johnson

Pretty much everyone knowns who Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is. Although he only competed in the WWE for six years full time, those six years were some of the best in WWE history during the Attitude Era. He eventually went on to Hollywood where he achieved unprecedented success in television and film, and became the highest-paid male actor in the world – pin up casino.

John Cena

John Cena, one of the greatest WWE superstars of all time, is at 16 world titles, matching Ric Flair’s record. It’s hard to not put him in the list considering his longevity in the ring and the amount of work he puts in for Make-A-Wish Foundation. Cena, just like The Rock, has now chosen Hollywood and spends more time acting than wrestling.

The Undertaker

With an unmatched WrestleMania record, The Undertaker is one of the most popular WWE Superstars ever. From his debut in 1990 up until his retirement 30 years later, it’s very hard to find another one like him. Indeed, there is only one Phenom and the former multi-time WWE champion deserves his spot here.

Roman Reigns

Starting out as part of The Shield, Roman Reigns was always destined for greatness. The current Undisputed WWE Universal champion has surpassed many champions when it comes to long reigns and is currently at nearly 900 days as champion, the longest in four decades. Reigns took a few months off after a bout with leukemia but came back stronger than ever as The Tribal Chief.

Brock Lesnar

Here comes the pain! Successful both in wrestling and in MMA, Brock Lesnar is the “break glass in case of emergency” for WWE. You might not see him for months, but when he comes back, you better hold on to your seat! Brock is the only individual in history to have held both the WWE and UFC heavyweight championships.

Hulk Hogan

With no Hulk Hogan, there would be no WrestleMania and without Hulk Hogan, there would be no WWE as we know it. Ask anyone who is not a fan to name a wrestler and the chances are he’s going to say Hulk Hogan. The man who carried WWE in the 80s and early 90s is no longer wrestling but Hulkamania will live forever.

Triple H

From Hunter Hearst Helmsley to Triple H to WWE COO, the man known as The Game had quite a career in WWE. Multiple title reigns and leader of D-Generation X and Evolution, Triple H has done it all in the ring, and now he’s doing it all behind the scenes. When it’s time to play the game, you know you’re going to get entertained.

Steve Austin

Perhaps the most popular wrestler of the Attitude Era, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin can still get a pop whenever he appears on TV. Just recently, the Rattlesnake returned to the ring after a 19-year absence, headlining WrestleMania 38 with Kevin Owens. Oh hell yeah!

Ric Flair

Wooooo! The Stylin’, profilin’, limousine riding, jet flying, kiss-stealing, wheelin’ n’ dealin’ son of a gun! No one had a career quite like the Nature Boy. 16-time world champion across the NWA, WCW, and WWE, he’s often referred to as arguably the greatest professional wrestler in the world. He’s also a two-time Hall of Famer and last year wrestled his last match.

Randy Orton

With 14 world titles to his name, Randy Orton trails just Flair and Cena in total reigns and maybe, just maybe, has enough left in him to catch them. The Viper, who was part of Evolution with Triple H, Ric Flair, and Batista, is one of the most popular wrestlers in the world and his finisher, the RKO, is often a highlight of the night.
