Matt Cardona and Impact Wrestling part ways

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Wrestling is reporting that Matt Cardona has wrapped up his duties with Impact Wrestling.

Cardona had been working with Impact on a handshake deal and not under a contract and Impact wanted to tie him down to a contract for guaranteed dates with the company.

But the popular indie star did not want to sign a deal and preferred a similar agreement to what they had, one which Impact was not willing to offer. Sapp added that Cardona would be willing to return if he’s not tied down to them.

It’s been a few months since Cardona showed up on Impact Wrestling TV and his last appearance was in January when he lost his Digital Media title to Joe Hendry.

Cardona has worked for Impact since 2021 and also frequently works for both Game Changer Wrestling and the NWA.
