Lynch to defend NXT Women’s title against Stratton in extreme rules match at No Mercy

The NXT Women’s title will be up for grabs at the upcoming No Mercy premium live event as champion Becky Lynch will defend her title against Tiffany Stratton in an extreme rules match.

Lynch was on NXT last night and opened the show, with Stratton crashing the party demanding a rematch at No Mercy. Lynch accepted and after the main event match between the champion and Lyra Valkyria against Stratton and Kiana James ended, the former NXT champion attacked Lynch with a steel chair.

Stratton took the NXT Women’s title and posed over Lynch who was left laying in the ring and then dropped the title on Lynch. Lynch then grabbed the mic and said that if that’s the way she wants to play, then she and her at No Mercy will be extreme rules.

Lynch will certainly be the favorite with bookmakers at FanDuel sportsbook for this match as her continued involvement with NXT will certainly help elevate the ratings of the weekly program and elevate others in the process.

The NXT Women’s title is the title that evaded Lynch during her NXT career and she is the last of the Four Horsewomen to win the belt, albeit a bit late!

In a recent tweet, Bayley poked some fun at Lynch writing that it took her “long enough” to win the title along with a laughing emoji. Becky responded in typical fashion, reminding Bayley that it took her less time to win the NXT title than it took Bayley to main event WrestleMania.

Lynch remains one of the few women to main event WrestleMania while Bayley is still waiting for her opportunity!
