Speaking to Sports Illustrated, AEW President Tony Khan said that the backstage footage from All In which they will broadcast tomorrow is to put on the best show for AEW as well as drive interest for Dynamite the Dynasty pay-per-view.
Without divulging any kind of information on what the footage will be, Khan said that AEW has a great track record on “delivering what we advertise,” and what they will show will be the real footage.
“The Young Bucks will show backstage footage from All In, the most important event in AEW history – the world record-holder for the most tickets ever sold for any wrestling record, over 81,035 total–and it was an important night backstage, as well,” Khan said.
The footage is said to be that of CM Punk and his altercation with Jack Perry, a wound which was reopened last week when Punk went to town on AEW and Khan during an interview with Ariel Helwani. Punk said that he only choked Perry “a little bit” before it was broken up but it looks like the footage might contain some other important details left out by Punk since the company is trying to discredit his version of events.
Khan added that The Young Bucks – who are releasing the footage – have a big rivalry with FTR – who are big friends of CM Punk – and “there is a good reason why the Young Bucks are showing this video.”
He noted that it’s important for The Bucks to explain why this is relevant heading into the Dynasty pay-per-view later this month.
“It should be another must-see part of a great show on Dynamite,” Khan said.
