Clash at the Castle: Scotland pick’em report

Hello everybody! It’s @TheMagnumDA with another installment of the Pick’em report. Tonight, Colin and I will battle for the WOPC Championship in a Confidence Pool Pick’em. We pick the winners from the top five matches, and we put 1-5 points on it (1 being the least confident, and 5 being the most). We might have similar picks in this report, but the big difference is the points! Who will walk out of Scotland with the gold? We’re about to find out.

ON WITH THE PICKS!

WWE Women’s Championship
Bayley (c) vs. Piper Niven (with Chelsea Green)

Magnum: Wow, pretty much every Scottish wrestler on the roster suddenly became the #1 Contender for all the major titles. That said, Bayley and Nia Jax are on a collision course at Summerslam, so I’ll take Bayley this evening (5).

Colin: Let’s face it, Piper Niven is only in this position because it’s Scotland. Nothing against her, but that’s just the reality of it. There’s no way she’s winning this one, with Bayley retaining. (4)

WWE Intercontinental Championship
Sami Zayn (c) vs. Chad Gable (with Alpha Academy)

Magnum: I’ve heard whispers that Gable may have already resigned with WWE. If that’s the case, you gotta think that he will win the title here. Right? Right….? What if I said maybe not? You can’t possibly take the title off Sami already, can you? The only way to keep this story rolling…is to put the title on Chad Gable. (2)

Colin: Interesting, this one. Is Gable staying or is he leaving? He lost way too much already and if he loses this one, I can see him on the way out. Then again, Sami just beat Gunther two months ago and taking the title away from him so soon makes no sense. Not sure how this will go. I’m gonna pick Gable for the win. (1)

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship – Triple Threat
Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill (c) vs. Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn vs. Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark

Magnum: Yeah, Belair and Cargill haven’t met their match yet. I could see the other teams putting up a good fight here, but today will belong to Bianca and Jade. They will retain. (4)

Colin: Yeah, well, I can’t see any of these teams beating WWE’s resident superhero team. I think Belair’s and Cargill’s downfall will be when they turn on each other. Other than that, difficult to predict any team to take the titles away from them. Bianca and Jade win. (5)

Undisputed WWE Championship – I Quit Match
Cody Rhodes (c) vs. AJ Styles

Magnum: I heard a rumor about AJ having family come with him to this match. Wouldn’t it be wild if they threw in the towel on his behalf? Either way, the Cody train will keep on rolling through. I expect Cody to retain in a match that ends with a creative finish. (3)

Colin: Gotta admit, not a big fan of these I Quit matches especially when you have top names like Cody and AJ. Having Momma Rhodes at the show is interesting, maybe she’ll be used in the match, but I don’t believe Cody is going to lose this one. He’s flying high and should remain champion. Cody wins. (3)

World Heavyweight Championship – Judgment Day Barred from Ringside
Damian Priest (c) vs. Drew McIntyre

Magnum: I can’t stop thinking about this stipulation where Judgment Day is barred from ringside. In my mind, that leads me to think that if Judgment Day doesn’t show up…who will? Someone will. I don’t know how it’ll play out, but I feel like there’s going to be some kind of misfire (possibly involving Dom or Liv) where Drew will seize the moment and become champion. (1)

Colin: Will they screw Drew again at Clash at the Castle? I would not be surprised LOL! I mean, if it was Vince, it would have been a given. I always thought Damian Priest would be a transitional champion and it would be bad if Drew loses this one. Unless, of course, CM Punk is there to spoil the party. But no, I’m hoping Drew gets his moment in his hometown. New champ! (2)

Alright fans, that’s going to do it for us – enjoy the Clash and we will see you next time on the Pick’em report! @TheMagnumDA signing off.
