Roman Reigns’ father, Sika of the Wild Samoans, passes away

WWE Hall of Famer Sika of the Wild Samoans passed away today at the age of 79. The news was announced by his nephew Jahnus Anoa’i.

Real name Leati Sika Amituana’i Anoaʻi, he was best known as former WWF Tag Team champion with his brother Afa, who together terrorized the tag team division of several promotions around the world.

Sika started his career in 1973 and joined the WWF with Afa in 1980. After just a year, the duo left the company and worked for NJPW, Mid-South and Georgia Championship Wrestling before eventually returning to the WWF in 1983. Their second stint in WWE didn’t last long either, leaving in 1985 but he returned a year later for another two-year stint.

After retiring from in-ring competition, Sika helped train up-and-coming wrestlers at the Wild Samoan Training Center with Afa.

Sika is the father of former Undisputed WWE champion Roman Reigns. He last appeared on WWE television at the 2020 Hell In A Cell premium live event where he celebrated his son’s victory of his cousin Jey Uso.
