John Cena posts statement on upcoming retirement tour

16-time world champion John Cena posted a statement on his upcoming retirement, his first public words since announcing that 2025 will be his final year as an in-ring competitor.

At Money In The Bank, Cena said that his time is up and he would be embarking on a year-long farewell tour with the company starting in January, working approximately up to 40 dates till the end of the year, after which he would be retiring from active competition.

“For over 22 years YOU have allowed me to be a part of many special moments. We have incredible history together from setbacks to triumph and all in between,” Cena said in a post on social media. “I’m so grateful to be invited back home so we can write the last chapter of this unforgettable ride. Sunsets are often the most memorable experience. I can’t wait to share this sunset with my family. See you all very soon. The Last Time Is Now!”

His retirement news got considerable interest from the mainstream media, with several news outlets covering the story.
