Tournament to crown Women’s United States champion to start on Smackdown

A tournament to crown the inaugural WWE Women’s United States champion will kick off on Smackdown live tonight on USA Network.

The announcement was made via a social media post by Smackdown General Manager Nick Aldis.

The newest title was unveiled last week on by Aldis, giving the women on the blue brand a secondary, mid-card title to fight over. Raw is also expected to have another title introduced for the women in the coming weeks.
