Bret Hart breaks down as he recounts stories about Hulk Hogan

A very emotional Bret Hart discussed his disappointment with Hulk Hogan after he became WWE champion for the first time in 1992, stopping several times to compose himself after crying in front of everyone on stage at today’s event in Manchester.

Bret said that he considered Hogan a friend and looked up to him during his time in the WWE however after Hogan came back following WrestleMania VIII things changed. Bret recalled how he stuck his hand out for 30 seconds to shake Hogan’s hand after he saw him the first time since he returned in 1992 and Hogan and Beefcake stood there ignoring him completely.

Hart broke down recounting how Hogan spread rumors about him in the locker room saying that Bret wasn’t “one of the boys” and that he “shouldn’t be trusted,” two things that really bothered him because they couldn’t be farther from the truth.

Fans at the Manchester Comedy Store sat quietly as the WWE Hall of Famer wiped tears from his eyes and then cheered him to show their support.

Hart then told a story how at the Hall of Fame in 2008 when he was inducted, he and Austin were talking backstage and Hogan came over to shake their hands, and both did to Hogan what Hogan and Beefcake did to Hart back in 1992, leaving Hogan without a handshake, to laughs and applause from the crowd.
