AEW announces details of the AEW Interim World Title Eliminator Series

AEW today confirmed via a press release that the interim AEW World title will be decided in a match between an AEW star and an NJPW star at Forbidden Door.

On June 12 at the NJPW Dominion show from Osaka, Hiroshi Tanahashi and Hirooki Goto will face off in an eliminator match, with the winner of this match advancing to Forbidden Door to take on whoever comes out on top this Wednesday on Dynamite.

The company yesterday announced that a battle royal will determine who will face Jon Moxley in the eliminator match in the main event of the show on Wednesday night.

An AEW World title unification match will then take place once CM Punk is medically cleared to compete.
