AEW gears up for what is probably their most important day in history

Apart from probably their first show, today is likely AEW’s most important day in history as the company prepares to announce their new television deal with Warner Bros. Discovery at the WBD upfront event at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York.

A solid deal will allow AEW to be on a more stable financial ground while allowing it to be more competitive in luring the top talent in this business as well as enhancing their production.

The deal, rumored to be in the $1 billion range over five years, will see the creation of the new AEW Saturday night show, Collision, as well as the continuation of Dynamite and Rampage and a streaming deal on Max.

Details are set to be revealed today and while it wasn’t known if any AEW talent were going to be appearing, WBD asked all their booked talent not to appear in person out of respect for both the talent and the writers who are on strike. Wrestling writers are not part of the WGA so the strike did not affect any wrestling shows.
