AEW Grand Slam: Australia moved from stadium to 13,000-seater arena

There will be nothing grand about the upcoming AEW Grand Slam: Australia show as AEW has moved it from the 50,000-seater Suncorp Stadium to the 13,000-seater Brisbane Entertainment Centre amid very low ticket sales.

An e-mail from Ticketek to all ticket holders said, “The promoter of AEW Grand Slam Australia, wishes to advise you that the venue for Grand Slam Australia on Saturday 15th February 2025, has been changed to Brisbane Entertainment Centre. Ticket holders do not need to take any action, your new event tickets will be sent to your Ticketek App in the next 2 weeks. Your Stadium tickets will not be valid for the new venue.”

AEW President Tony Khan boasted last week that the company has sold “thousands” of tickets for Grand Slam when there were already rumors of a venue change and Ticketek restricting purchasing of new tickets for the show.

Tickets for the new location are not available for sale yet but will be online soon.

The Brisbane Entertainment Centre last held a wrestling show for WWE in October 2019, a non-televised live event headlined by Roman Reigns vs Erick Rowan in a street fight.

This was a bit of karma biting back as on May 27, 2022, Tony Khan tweeted that it was one of his favorite days because he had dinner with Dana White where he informed him that MITB was moved from the proposed Allegiant Stadium to MGM Grand due to low sales on the same day of a UFC event at the T-Mobile Arena.
