Producer BJ Whitmer has been fired by AEW after he was arrested on domestic violence charges according to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.
Whitmer, 45, was taken into custody on June 4 by the Boone County Sheriff’s Department in Kentucky and charged with first degree strangulation and second degree burglary.
A $25,000 bond was set and he was released from jail on Monday.
“B.J. Whitmer has been terminated following his arrest on domestic violence charges,” a statement from AEW read after Fightful reported it. “While talent and staff are ultimately responsible for their own personal actions, this behavior is intolerable within AEW. AEW has reached out to offer support to those impacted by his behavior.”
Whitmer, who wrestled for ROH during his career, signed with AEW in 2019 as a producer.
