Brian Pillman Jr no longer under an AEW deal

PWInsider.com is reporting that Brian Pillman Jr is no longer under an AEW contract and he is now a free agent. Pillman’s contract expired and it was not renewed by the company. His profile was removed from the AEW roster page.

The 29-year-old started working for AEW in 2019 while he was still under a contract with MLW and then signed an AEW deal when that contract expired. In 2020 during the pandemic, Pillman started teaming with Griff Garrison as The Varsity Blonds but 2023 has not been very kind to either of them, with Pillman having his last AEW match on the May 13 House Rules tour. He teamed with Brock Anderson on that night, losing to The Gunns.

Pillman Jr has kept up with the indies while in AEW and his last match was on July 7 for ACW.

He has not written anything public acknowledging his departure from the company as of this writing.
