Cody Rhodes wins TNT title for the third time on Rampage

Cody Rhodes became the first person to hold the TNT title on three separate occasions after yesterday he defeated Sammy Guevara for the title during the Christmas Day episode of Rampage on TNT.

Rhodes, who said he’ll not go heel or wrestle for the world title in AEW, didn’t act exactly like a babyface and fans have a love/hate relationship with the AEW Executive, constantly booing him or not giving him the babyface reception.

The 15-minute match which was the main event of the show saw Guevara going for the 630 splash but Rhodes countered by putting his knees up. Two Cross Rhodes later and a Tiger Driver 98 for good measure secured the victory for the ring veteran.

Former NWA announcer David Crockett presented Rhodes with the title after his win.

Cody was the inaugural TNT champion, beating Lance Archer and then dropped it to Brodie Lee. He regained the title from Lee but lost it to Darby Allin just after a month.
