Eddie Kingston ready to return but no green light from AEW docs yet

Eddie Kingston is raring to go but AEW doctors are not giving him the green light yet even though he’d be up for it if they sign off on him now.

Appearing on the WrestleTalk podcast, Kingston said that he suffered a similar injury before when he was on the independents and is used to sucking it up and make the next town the next day.

But that’s now things work in AEW and a fractured orbital bone is no laughing matter. Kingston was injured earlier last month and has not appeared on television ever since.

“I’m ready to go right now, if the doctors would clear me, I would go. I would just have to protect the whole time,” Kingston said during the podcast. “Blew my nose to my eye…swelled up.”

Kingston recounted how he asked the AEW doc if it was okay if he “cut it,” referring to his indie days when he cut his swelling to get the blood out and then return to work a few days later, but that genius idea was quickly shot down and he was ordered to go get checked properly.

Acknowledging that there’s nothing to do to make the injury heal quicker, he said he’s getting better every day and mentally as well, not just physically. “Put ice on it and rest up,” Kingston continued. “There’s nothing I can really do.”
