Thunder Rosa is no longer the AEW Women’s champion after it was revealed last night on Dynamite that the company has asked Rosa to surrender the title due to her injuries and no definite timeline for her return.
With Rosa dropping the title, Jamie Hayter is now no longer the interim AEW Women’s champion, but the proper champ.
“Thank you #ThunderArmy for all the support and @aew for being there for me. Dream-like moments happened in this run, and this is not how I wanted to lose the championship, but you deserve a present champion; on to the next chapter,” Rosa wrote on Twitter after the announcement.
Rosa was injured before All Out and her match against Toni Storm was canceled and replaced by a fatal four-way to crown a new interim champion, a match which Storm won. Storm lost the title to Hayter at Full Gear.
It was also announced that Toni Storm’s reign will be recognized as a regular champion without the interim.
