Jon Moxley advances to interim AEW World title match

Jon Moxley booked his ticket to Chicago’s Forbidden Door and now has a chance to wrestle for the Interim AEW World title.

A Casino Battle Royale kicked off Dynamite last night and it was Kyle O’Reilly who won the match, eliminating Wheeler Yuta last. The final four included Rey Fenix and the joker, Andrade El Idolo.

O’Reilly then main evented Dynamite with Moxley, and the former AEW champion picked up the victory following his Paradigm Shift finisher.

Mox will now face the winner of Tanahashi vs Goto match which takes place on June 12 at the NJPW Dominion show.

Moxley was the heavy favorite to win after AEW changed the rankings to put him #1 two days after the official rankings were out on Wednesday of last week. Wardlow was #1 and Mox was #4 before the change was made.

If he wins the title, Mox would become the only person to hold the AEW World title twice. Whoever wins the title will then meet CM Punk to unify the belts when Punk is medically cleared to compete.
