Kenny Omega unloads on NXT, says AEW is full of real stars and not developmental talent

In a new sit-down interview with Sportskeeda, AEW Executive Vice President Kenny Omega took several digs at NXT and said that for him, this is not a war as they are in a different planet than their competition.

Omega acknowledged that it’s hard for him to say he’s going to “war” against people he calls his friends but then held nothing back in dissing WWE’s “developmental” territory. Omega said that if they were all on the same show together under the same promotion, he would be the main event while the NXT guys would be just the dark match before adding, “They’d be in the opening match of my main event match.”

But his comments did not end there. He said that AEW will be performing in front of 10,000+ people every single week but how can we call it a war when they’re on different planets?

“You’re going to see smiles on fans’ faces. You’re going to see real stars, not developmental talent. But real stars appearing on your television sets, every week,” Omega continued.

This is not the first time that Omega’s comments may face backlash. Back in June, he attacked both WWE and EVOLVE for scheduling their 10th anniversary event on the WWE Network on the same day that as Fight for the Fallen. He eventually deleted his tweet and then issued a clarification.
