Khan hopeful AEW media rights deal will justify original investment he made in AEW

AEW President Tony Khan has said in an interview with SportsGrid that he’s hopeful that the new media rights deal will justify the investment he made in AEW.

“It’s going to be a huge thing. It will mean that all the investment into AEW has more than paid off,” Khan said. “It’ll mean a very secure future for AEW for a very long time to come.”

Khan said that they’re having great conversations with Warner Bros. Discovery and they have a great home with them and said that WBD wants them to stay where they are.

“They’ve made us great offers and we’re having great conversations now. But, you know, with five hours of wrestling every week and streaming, there’s all kinds of things to talk about,” he continued, before adding that this is a really exciting time for the future of the company.

Khan recently said that they’re at the finish line with negotiations, negotiations which started months ago. The exclusive window with WBD closes in a matter of weeks and AEW could negotiate with other networks after that.

But Khan made it very clear he wants to stay with WBD for years to come and even said in an interview he’s willing to stick with them for less money than what others would offer.
