Mercedes Mone says she’s the “happiest she’s ever been” following AEW debut

Mercedes Mone did the media rounds in Boston yesterday following her AEW debut at Big Business which was held at the TD Garden.

Speaking to NBC10, Mone said that she’s the “happiest she’s ever been” in AEW and her debut went incredible.

“My fans from all over the world, it wasn’t just fans from Boston. They came from all over the world, legit, to celebrate such a beautiful and amazing moment,” Mone said. “To have it here in Boston was so incredible. To be out in the crowd and to see my brother’s face, my mom, it’s so crazy to see how far I’ve come.”

Mone was invited for the Boston Celtics game yesterday which aired on TNT and was shown on screen while commentators plugged next week’s Dynamite.

She also did an interview with Sports Illustrated where she said that 10 minutes before the show she was in gorilla position and could feel the energy from the crowd.

“When my music hit, I felt the energy and I knew I was home,” Mone told SI.

Mone revealed that when she had her ankle injury last May, the surgeon told her that it was career-ending, which was the biggest shock of her life.

“But I always knew I would be back, and I told that to my surgeon,” she said. “Now I’m healthy and my surgeon is calling his mentor saying, ‘Look at what happened here, it’s incredible.’ I don’t like being told no. I always believed I would be back, and now it’s true.”

Mone even sat down with Renee Paquette for a 12-minute interview to discuss her debut which you can see below.
