Mercedes Mone successfully defends NJPW Strong Women’s title at Capital Collision

Mercedes Mone successfully defended her NJPW Strong Women’s title against Mono Watanabe last night at the NJPW Capital Collision live event which was held in Washington, DC.

Mone vs Watanabe main evented the show and she came out with both the NJPW Strong Women’s title as well as the TBS title she currently holds for AEW. Mone won the match after she hit the Mone Maker and transitioned into the Statement Maker, with Watanabe tapping out.

This was the first time since May 2023 that Mone has wrestled for New Japan Pro Wrestling where she lost the match against Willow Nightingale in the tournament final to crown the inaugural NJPW Strong Women’s champion. She won the title from Stephanie Vaquer at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view this past June.
