Omega vs Danielson booked for Dynamite: Grand Slam next week

AEW is giving away one of their biggest matches on free television next week at their Dynamite: Grand Slam episode as Bryan Danielson will be taking on Kenny Omega in a non-title match.

The match was set up yesterday during an in-ring segment where Danielson issued the challenge saying this match will be about who is better between the two and to give people what they want rather than for the title.

Fans at the Prudential Center quickly got on the “Yes!” chants while Don Callis repeatedly said no. After Danielson called Callis a “piece of shit,” Danielson got in Omega’s face and asked him if it will be a yes or a no. Omega, much to Callis’ raging, said yes.

Over 18,000 fans will be in attendance at the Arthur Ashe Stadium for AEW’s biggest event so far. Originally, this event was supposed to have been the debut of Bryan Danielson but it was pushed up due to the uncertainty over coronavirus restrictions in the city. The show will now serve as Danielson’s in-ring debut for the promotion.
