Sammy Guevara returns on Dynamite

Sammy Guevara returned to Dynamite last night after a one-month suspension which started on June 22 for inappropriate comments he made towards Sasha Banks.

Guevara showed up as Serpentico, who regularly wrestles on AEW Dark, and attacked Luchasaurus during the tag team main event match featuring fellow Inner Circle members Chris Jericho and Jake Hager against Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy.

Following the match, Guevara, still under the mask, helped the Inner Circle beat on the Jurassic Express and then removed his mask after delivering a shooting star press. “Sammy Guevara has come home to the Inner Circle,” JR said on commentary. “And the headmaster of that class, Chris Jericho, is very very happy!”

Guevara was suspended because a four year old clip from a podcast resurfaced during the #SpeakingOut movement where he said that he wanted to “f*cking rape” Banks during his WWE tryout. Guevara owned up to his mistake, apologized publicly and privately to Banks, and went to sensitivity training. He was not paid during the month and instead his pay was donated to Women’s Center of Jacksonville.
